Aesthetics Aftercare Advice

ANTI WRINKLE

  • Immediately afterwards you can expect a small red swelling at the injection site which will reduce within 30 minutes. Afterwards there may occasionally be a small bruise or redness, which disappears within a few days. 

  • The full effect of Botulinum Toxin takes up to 30 days but most people start to notice some changes within 5 days and a near full result by 14 days.

  • Avoid alcohol, exercise and use of saunas and steam rooms for at least 24 hours afterwards as it can lead to flushing of the skin- this can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. 

  • Avoid rubbing the areas of the face that have been injected for 24 hours; this includes having facials or face massage. 

  • Avoid applying make-up directly to the injection sites for 24 hours; you may apply make-up to the other areas of your face.

DERMAL FILLER

  • You may have some discomfort, swelling and bruising around the areas treated; this should disappear within a few days. 

  • If you notice any areas of skin that become pale or grey in colour or if you are experiencing ongoing and worsening pain, you should seek immediate advice from your practitioner – this could be a sign that a nearby blood vessel has been blocked. This is very rare but potentially serious complication and treatment needed urgently/ 

  • Avoid rubbing the areas of the face that have been injected for 24 hours; this includes facials and face massage. There is no need to massage following dermal filler treatment; you can expect any filler related lumps to settle over the next 4 weeks (in some cases it may take longer). If a lump is not resolving or you are distressed by the nature of these lumps, please seek advice from your practitioner. 

  • Avoid applying makeup directly to the injection sites for 24 hours; you may apply make-up to the other areas of your face.

Wow fusion, Micro-needling and Skin Boosters 

  • Avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment.

  • If provided, use aftercare products according to the given instructions.

  • Gently cleanse the treated areas before applying any post-treatment products.

  • Prior to touching the treated areas, ensure that you've thoroughly washed your hands.

  • Avoid picking, scratching, or rubbing the treated areas to prevent infection and irritation.

  • Be aware that with skin boosters and certain polynucleotide treatments, it might take 24-28 hours for any bumps to subside.

  • Refrain from applying excessive pressure or massaging the treated areas during this healing period.

  • Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy skincare routine to support the healing process. 

  • Remember, proper aftercare is essential to ensure the best results from your treatment and to promote optimal skin healing.
